Ellen I. Weiderhold
Ellen I. Weiderhold, 711 Washington Street, Frackville, died Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Born in Mahanoy City she was a daughter of the late John A. and Elva " Smith " Blackwell. She was a resident of Minersville until moving to Frackville in April, 2007. She was a 1943 graduate of Mahanoy City High School.
Ellen was a member of First Congregational Church, Minersville.
She was preceded in death by a brother Charles S. Blackwell Sr., a sister Anita Good and a grandson Edward James Doyle.
Ellen enjoyed holiday decorating and until her vision loss, 3 years ago, she created unique needlework pieces, now cherished by her family and friends.
"Gram" loved her grandchildren and had the patience and endurance to play any game , teaching them " you can't always win ".
Surviving are her husband of 59 years , Daniel A. Weiderhold , daughters; Donna M. Doyle and her husband James, Minersville, Linda E. Beecroft and her husband Joseph, Frackville, sons; John G. Weiderhold and his wife Janet, Orwigsburg, Daniel A. Weiderhold and his wife Joan, Primrose; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville with her daughter-in-law, Rev. Joan Weiderhold, pastor of First Congregational Church, Minersville, officiating. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:30 until time of service.
