Elizabeth T. "Betty" Luciani

Elizabeth T. "Betty" Luciani , lifelong resident of Frackville, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday surrounded by her loving family just 3 days short of her 96 th birthday.

Born at 119 E. Spring Street in Frackville, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Margaret Dougherty Condron. She worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania and in the domestics department for Boscov's until her retirement.

Betty attended St. Joseph's Elementary School and graduated from Frackville High School in 1946. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Frackville and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary Council 2580 where she held the office of president from 1974 to 1977.

On February 5, 1955 she married Leo R. Luciani Sr. who passed away on January 24, 1988. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: William Condron, Nancy Condron, Mary Condron, Helen Condron Fidler and Helen Pascowskie Wolfe.

Betty was affectionately known to her family as "mom mom" and is survived by her two children: Leo R. Luciani Jr. and his wife Kathleen, Frackville; Helen Marie Bardzak and her husband Gary of Marlin; her grandchildren: Renata Ann and her husband Jason Blozousky, Mary Elizabeth and her husband Benjamin Brownlee, Leo R. Luciani III and his wife Jennifer, Gary Michael Bardzak Jr. and his wife Tricia and Daniel F. Bardzak and his partner Ashlee Horning; her great-grandchildren: Keira Elizabeth Blozousky, David Joseph Luciani, Samuel Condron Brownlee, Oliver Martin Brownlee, Riley Anna Bardzak, Micah Patrick Bardzak and Landon Barrett Bardzak; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 8 th at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Parish (St. Ann's Church) with Rev. Giuseppe Esposito, pastor, as the celebrant. Friends are invited to her viewing at the church on Sunday, May 7 th from 5 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in the Englewood section of Frackville.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer charitable donations be made in Betty's name.
