Edward J. Haughney

Edward J. Haughney , 88, Girardville passed away peacefully Monday at Orwigsburg Center, Orwigsburg.

Born in Girardville he was a son of the late Edward and Mary ( Hussey ) Haughney. He had been employed as a miner for several area collieries and later as a truck driver for local construction companies.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Girardville.

Ed will be remembered for his great sense of humor and how much he enjoyed visiting with friends, attending horse races and walking around Knoebels Park.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Mary Price.

He is the beloved uncle to his nephew and two nieces; Robert Price, Hazleton, Mary Ann Price, Mount Carbon and Janice Price, Adamsdale.

Mass of Christian Burial, for Ed, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church Chapel, Girardville. Interment will be in the parish cemetery Fountain Springs. Friends may call at the church Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until time of mass.
