Doris A. Niedzwiecki , 75, Pine Grove, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.
Born Doris Ann Holland, in Newark, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Margaret (Slover) Holland. She was married to Chester John Niedzwiecki for over 51 years until his death on January 26, 2018.
She was employed with Schuylkill County IU as an enrichment teacher, and then the United States Life Insurance Company in Reading until her retirement. She then worked part-time at Cabelas for several years.
She was a 1964 graduate of Central Regional High School, Bayville, NJ and went on to graduate from Penn State University. She was a Girl Scout leader and assisted Cub Scout pack 124. She was active and served in multiple positions in the Francis Hopkinson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was active on committees in Swatara Village.
Doris enjoyed family vacations, scrapbooking, genealogy, reading, and attending her grandchildren's activities and spending time with them.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a niece, Jennifer McIntyre, and her grandparents, Eva and John Holland.
Doris is survived by her son John Niedzwiecki and his wife Meg Streams, TN; her daughter Dorothy, wife of Steven Sterner, Deer Lake; two sisters: Carol Murcko, CT, and Edith Haytas, CT; two grandchildren, Emily Sterner, MD, and Mason Sterner, Deer Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 14th at 10:30 a.m. from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at the convenience of the family.
