Donald G. Briggs

Donald G. Briggs, 57, 503 W. Washington Street, Shenandoah, died Saturday evening at his residence.

Born in Shenandoah he was a son of the late John and Alberta " Brobst " Briggs. He had been employed as a mechanic/truck driver for Reading Anthracite for 35 years.

He was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Columbia Fire House and the 500 club, all of Shenandoah and the Six County Fireman's Association.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Nancy Lou Briggs, 1950, and Diane M. Briggs Simms in 2009.

Surviving are his wife of 35 years the former Charlene " Fadule ", two sons; Travis Briggs, Shenandoah and Eric Briggs, Shenandoah Heights, a brother John and his wife Ruth Briggs, Douglasville, two sisters; Judy Taylor and Cheryl Powis both of Frackville, two grandchildren; Travis Briggs Jr. and McKenzie Briggs also several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Shenandoah, on Thursday at noon with Rev. Brunilda Martinez, pastor, officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of services.
