Daniel W. Schmidt
Daniel W. Schmidt, 59, 45 S. Third St., Frackville, died unexpectedly Sunday, shortly after arrival, at Schuylkill Medical Center, E. Norwegian Street, Pottsville.
Born in Ft. Springs he was a son of the late Henry Schmidt and Beatrice " Kaufman " Schmidt Reiff. He was employed as a home rehabilitation specialist for NHS, Reading, until his retirement.
Dan was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Frackville. He was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War and was a graduate of Williamsport Area Community College.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; Stephen and Henry Allen Schmidt.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years Barbara " Mashack " Schmidt, four sons; Mark and his wife Lisa Schmidt, West Chester, Jason Schmidt, currently serving with the army in Iraq, Isaac and Steven Schmidt both at home, his daughter Julie Schmidt, Rock Hill, S.C. a brother Michael Schmidt and a sister Cyrilla Harrell both of Fla. a grandson, Brady Schmidt and 3 grand-daughters; Jasmine, Callie and Zoe Schmidt, also nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In Lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions, in Dan's name, be made to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cinncinnati, OH 45250.
