Cody M. Chaklos
Cody M. Chaklos , 23, Frackville, lost his courageous battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma, Wednesday evening, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Pottsville he was a son of David and Mary Ann ( Bonkowski ) Chaklos, Frackville. He was the Ride Group Supervisor for Hershey Park, Hershey.
He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church of St. Joseph's Parish, Frackville.
He was a 2011 graduate of Nativity B.V.M. High School, Pottsville and a 2014 graduate of Keystone Technical Institute with a degree from the Culinary Arts Department as a chef. He was a member of Friendship Fire Co., Englewood.
Cody was a roller coaster enthusiast, who enjoyed Hershey Park, Cedar Point and Disney World. He was an avid golfer, train enthusiast, loved photography, cooking and following the weather as an amateur meteorologist. He was a fan of the Phillies and always looked forward to attending the Little League World Series with his dad every year.
More than anything he loved his fiancé, his family and his Hershey Park family.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Peg Chaklos, his maternal grandparents Leon and Kathryn Bonkowski and his uncle Leon Bonkowski.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his fiancé Shannon Moyer, his paternal grand-father Francis Chaklos, Frackville, two brothers; Chris Chaklos, Frackville and Chad Chaklos, Englewood, his twin sister Kiely Chaklos, Frackville; his nephew Owen, aunts, uncles, cousins and his faithful dogs Lily and Jax.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Ann Catholic Church, Frackville, with Rev. Robert T. Finlan, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will be in Annunciation Cemetery, Englewood, Frackville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. and on Monday morning from 9:30 until time of service.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers contributions, in Cody's name be made to, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute at 500 University Drive Hershey, PA 17033
