Charles V. Anthony
Charles V. Anthony, 70, Frackville, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at his residence.
Born in Mar Lin, he was a son of the late Charles and Anna " Semick " Anthony. He had been employed as a serviceman for PPL until his retirement in 2004.
He was a tank commander in the Army reserves and was called to duty for the Bay of Pigs invasion during the Cuban missile crisis.
Charles was very involved throughout the years in Frackville youth athletics. He had been a coach for Frackville Midget football, he was a past-president of the Spartan Half-Time Club and til his death was a faithful supporter of Spartan football and both boy's and girls Spartan basketball teams. He was an avid Phillies, Eagles and Penn State fan. He was a former member of FAMA in Frackville
His love for animals made him a dedicated and fervent supporter of Hillside SPCA, Pottsville.
He was preceded in death by his brother Geary Anthony.
Charles is survived by his wife of 46 years the former Linda M. " Hutira ", two sons; Charles and his wife Barbara Anthony, Harrisburg and Brian and his wife Rosalina Anthony. Frackville, three grandchildren; Mitchel, Matthew and Deidre Anthony, a brother John Anthony, Frackville also by an aunt and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a " Celebration of Life " service at 10 a.m. on Saturday from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m.
The family prefers contributions, in Charles name, be made to the Hillside SPCA, Hillside Rd. Pottsville, Pa, 17901
