Carl E. “Mickey” Lute, 89, of Kulpmont, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 21st, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Helfenstein, Carl was the son of the late Emerson and Mary Chubb Lute. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his siblings, Arlene Chillis, Virginia Barkanski, Nancy Myers, James Lute, Barbara Lute, and Rose Lute; his daughter-in-law, Mary Lightner Lute; and a sister-in-law, Jane Fetterolf.
Mickey was a graduate of the former Ashland High School, Class of 1954. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country from 1954 to 1957 during the Korean War.
After his military service, Mickey dedicated 35 years of his career as a tool and die maker at Standard Pressed Steel, where he was known for his precision, craftsmanship, and strong work ethic before retiring.
Mickey had a true passion for woodworking, a craft that allowed him to showcase his creativity, patience, and attention to detail. He took great pride in working with his hands and created numerous beautiful pieces of furniture throughout his home. Each piece reflected his skill, dedication, and love for craftsmanship, leaving behind not only treasured items for his family to enjoy but also a lasting reminder of his talent and the care he put into everything he created.
Mickey is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Pearl (Fetterolf) Lute; his daughter, Sandra Neumeister and her husband James; his son, Michael Lute; his brothers, Ted Lute and his wife Jean Ann, and Terry Lute and his wife Carol; and his sisters, Lois Casey and Ada Jackowiak.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Robert (Nikki Monti), Diana, and a step-grandchild Jamie ; his great-grandchildren, Patrick, Michael, Brooke, and step-great-grandchild Gavin; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 25th, at 11:00 a.m. from Christ’s United Lutheran Church, 437 Airport Road, Ashland with Rev. Brian Beissel, pastor, officiating. A viewing will be held at the church Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be private.
