Barbara A. Wayne

Barbara A. Wayne , 74, Girardville, passed away suddenly Thursday evening at her home.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Nellie McQueen. She worked as a clerk typist for SCI Frackville until her retirement.

Barbara was a member of the former St. Joseph's Parish, Girardville. She was a member of the Mahanoy City Knitting Club.

Barbara enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to take her beloved companion, Toby, for walks everyday. She enjoyed line dancing, traveling, especially to the Pocono's and made friends everywhere she went.

She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Briel and her grandson, Matthew Briel.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 35 years, Joseph J. Wayne of Girardville; her two daughters: Sabrina and her husband Terry Wetzel, Slatington and Tammy and her husband David Lamberson, Gettysburg; her son, Eric and his wife Coleen Briel, Ashland; her five grandchildren: Maria Truskey, Reisterstown, MD, Elizabeth Skiffington, Denver, CO, Shaun Wetzel, Schnecksville, Rosalie Wetzel, Philadelphia and Corine Briel, Frackville; her great-granddaughter Lux Carter Budwash; She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent dePaul Church, Girardville with Rev. Kevin Lonergan celebrating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Fountain Springs. Friends may call at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday morning from 9 to 10 a.m.
