Barbara Pelak
Barbara Pelak , 83, formerly of Frackville, passed away on October 4, 2017 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida.
Born in Maizeville and raised in Frackville, she was the daughter of Michael and Anna (Welikonich) Comishock. Barbara was married to Peter Pelak for 60 years, and they have two children and four grandchildren. For most of her life, she was a member of the Holy Ascension Russian Orthodox Church in Frackville and Saint Barbara's Auxiliary.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Michael and Theodore, and a sister, Dorothy.
She is survived by her husband, Peter; a son, Paul Pelak, and his wife Margaret, Breinigsville; a daughter, Mary Pelak Walch, and her husband Sam, Fort Myers, Florida; four grandchildren, Natasha Pelak, Nicholas Pelak, Sam Walch, and Anna Walch; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Barbara's legacy was her tremendous love for her family and friends, and her deep and abiding faith.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, October 16 th , at the Holy Ascension Russian Orthodox Church, Frackville with the Very Rev. James M. Jadick, pastor, as the celebrant. Friends may call at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville on Sunday, October 15 th , from 6 to 8 p.m. with Parastas at 6:30 p.m. and on Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, where she will be laid to rest at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
