Archangelina Emanuela "Lena" Ricci , 95, of New Cumberland, formerly of Shenandoah, died peacefully Friday morning in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Lewistown, PA on August 16, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Emanuela (Villano) Simonetti.
Lena was an active member of St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus Parish, New Cumberland.
She loved Hank Williams, Louis Prima, gardening, cooking and walking. From 1981 to 1996, she walked 2 miles everyday. She was passionate about dancing and life. Lena was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her loving family.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter Louise R. Scheaffer in 2007.
Lena is survived by her son Michael and wife Sheila Ricci of Allentown; her grandchildren John M. Scheaffer of Brooklyn, NY, Angela Marie Ricci of Philadelphia, Jessica R. Gonzalez of New Cumberland, and Carla Ricci of Philadelphia; her great-grandchildren, Redding and Ruby L.O. Scheaffer of Brooklyn, NY, Olive and Pearl Ricci-Upin of Philadelphia, Huck Frederick Pase of Philadelphia and Rio Ricci Gonzalez of New Cumberland.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus Parish, New Cumberland, with Rev. Anthony Raja as the celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Fountain Springs. Friends may call at the church Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of mass.
