Angelas D. Oakum

Angelas D. Oakum of Frackville, passed from this life surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday evening.

Born and raised in Gilberton she was a daughter of the late William and Catherine " Killian " Reed. She married Edward Oakum of Boston Run and moved to Elizabeth, NJ where they lived and worked for over forty years. Angelas was preceded in death be her husband and a son Edward Jr. who died at age 11.

A woman of strong will and stronger faith, Angelas returned to Frackville and was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of The Americas.

She was the oldest living member of her family and now passes that distinction to her niece Dolores Milewski, Medford, NJ. Other local surviving members include her niece Helen Yashinsky, Hershey and her nephew Thomas and his wife Renee Yashinsky, Orwigsburg.

Funeral services will be held at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, Frackville with interment to follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, in Northern NJ. All services will be private.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be given in her memory to St. Joseph's Church, Frackville.
