Albert J. Balutis Jr.

Albert J. "Toby" Balutis Jr. , lifelong resident of Girardville, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon at Schuylkill Medical Center East Norwegian St., Pottsville.

Born in Girardville, he was a beloved son of the late Albert F. and Anna (Willis) Balutis. Toby worked as a tank car welder in Ambler and then Ashland State Hospital until his retirement.

Toby was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Church, Girardville.

He was preceded in death by his two treasured sisters: Anna Jean Yekenchik R.N. and Rosemary Demshock R.N.

Toby is survived by his loving nieces; Gina Yekenchik and fiancé Shawn O'Boyle, Fountain Springs and Kristen Demshock and husband Brian Barth of Horsham. He is also survived by two cherished great-nieces, Annika and Amelia Demshock.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Girardville, with Rev. Edward B. Connolly, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Englewood, Frackville. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
