Adrienne L. Swartz

Adrienne L. Swartz , 90, Frackville, died peacefully Wednesday evening at her residence, with her family at her side.

Born in Shamokin, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Lorraine ( Duncan ) Sabotchick. She had been employed as a sorter in the local garment industry having last worked at the former Martin's Dress factory, Frackville.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Frackville.

During WW II, she had worked in factories building airplanes and was most proud of being selected as a model for posters selling war bonds. In her younger days she enjoyed playing the trumpet and was well known , even today, for her baking and candy making prowess. Her favorite past time was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Swartz in 1995, her brother, Robert Sabotchick and sisters; Evelyn Labowski and Jean Thomas.

Adrienne is survived by her son Michael and his wife Judy Swartz and her daughter Barbara wife of William Gaverick, all of Frackville, her grandchildren; Matthew and Nicholas Swartz, Shannon Mandel and Brian Gaverick, her great-grandchildren; Vivian, Paxton Swartz and Rylea Gaverick, her sister, Rosemary Wolfgang, Hegins, her lifetime friend Joan Morgan and also by several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in St. Joseph's Church, Frackville, with Rev. Robert T. Finlan, pastor as the celebrant. Interment will be in Odd Fellows cemetery, Frackville. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at the church.
